MANGROVE BOAT TOUR

The Central Pacific of Costa Rica is a region renowned for its greenery, nature and wildlife. Among one its most impressive ecosystems are mangroves, where water meets forest, creating a most hospitable environment for colorful wildlife. The mangroves are best discovered by boat, from which visitors can observe exotic animals such as white-faced monkeys, anteaters, iguanas, crocodiles, turtles, crabs, and a plethora of birds.

 

The tour begins with a quick 20-minute ride from the Port of Quepos to the mangroves. Upon arrival, you will go aboard the comfortable estuary boats and go on your mangrove boat tour! The experience last about two hours, in which you will make your leisurely way through the channels of the mangrove forest in total tranquility. Your guide will point out interesting flora and fauna!

MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK HIKE

Manuel Antonio National Park is the undisputed crowned jewel of the Central Pacific region of Costa Rica. It is renowned worldwide for its crystal-clear waters, white-sand beaches and lush tropical vegetation. Also, it is very famous for its friendly white-faced monkeys!

 

The tour begins with a 20-minute drive to Manuel Antonio National Park. Upon arrival, you will go on a nature hike through the tropical trails of the park. As you make your way through the reserve, you will be able to observe wildlife such as iguanas, raccoons, coati, agouti, two-toed sloths, three-toed sloths, white-faced monkeys, howler monkeys, and Titi monkey. Birdwatchers – keep an eye out for toucans, pelicans, tanagers, ospreys, kingfishers, and yellow crowned night herons.    

 

After the hike, you’ll get a little time to relax on the beach with refreshments and snacks!

TOCORI WATERFALLS NATURE HIKE

Tocori is a natural ecological reserve and tropical jungle, located inland, northeast of Quepos. The reserve is home to three breath-taking waterfalls. It is best known for its waterfalls, jungle trails, and relaxing nature-immersed ranches.

 

The tour begins with a 30-minute scenic drive from the Port of Quepos, into the very heart of the Puntarenas countryside. Upon arrival at Tocori, you will go on an exciting nature hike through the property’s private jungle trails. As you make your way through the rainforest, your guide will point out exotic plants and wildlife. At each waterfall, you will get to rest and take a dip in the natural pools and rivers, that serve as wellness spas amidst the rainforest!

 

After your hike, you will get to relax with refreshment and fruits.

QUEPOS CULTURE & HISTORY TOUR

Quepos is a coastal town located on the Central Pacific region of Costa Rica. It is better known for most visitors, a place passed by, on the way to the enchanting beaches and hilltop vistas of Manuel Antonio. However, Quepos has its very own culture, history and ecotourism-based community to discover!

 

The tour begins the moment you get off the cruise ship, on which your guide will tell you all about Quepos’ educational system, National Parks, government, religion, and local customs. Your first stop will be a local school amidst a farm of African Palm Trees. Next, you’ll visit Boca Vieja, a neighborhood known for fishing. Lastly, you will be taken to a local coffee shop, where you will get to sample some of the best gourmet coffee in Costa Rica!

 

Only on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings, this tour also includes a visit to the local farmers market, where you’ll see Quepos’ commerce in action. You will get to sample delicious tropical fruits!

WHITE-WATER RAFTING AT SAVEGRE RIVER

The Savegre River is located south of Quepos and flows from inland Puntarenas to the coast. Surrounded by tropical jungle, the river is renowned as one of Costa Rica’s best spots for white-water rafting. The Savegre River provides Class II & III rapids, ideal for rafters of varying experience.

 

The tour begins with a 90-minute drive from the Port of Quepos to the Savegre River. Upon arrival, after brief safety instructions, you will get your gear on and jump into your rafts. The flow of the river begins slowly, and begins to build up, as rapids approach. As you make your way down the Savegre, surrounded entirely by the serenity of the scenic rainforest, you will surely enjoy the exciting rafting experience. Your guides will point out exotic plants and wildlife such as egrets, osprey, toucans, parrots, king mackerels, and cormorants. You will get to rest and swim at locally known natural pools and waterfalls.

 

After the rafting experience, you will get to relax on the river bed, and enjoy fresh fruit and cool refreshments.

ATV ADVENTURE

15 minutes away from the beach town of Jaco, amidst the rainforests of the Central Pacific, Vista Los Suenos Adventure Park awaits adrenaline-seekers and nature-lovers alike. Surrounded by nature, the park offers many exciting activities. Among one of the most popular is riding ATVs.

 

The tour begins with a scenic hour-and-a-half-long ride from the Port of Quepos to Vista Los Suenos Adventure Park. Upon arrival, you will get brief instructions at the adventure center and go on a test-run of the ATVs on a private track. If you do not pass the test, you will not be allowed to partake in the ATV tour.

 

Get on your ATV and ride along jungle trails, dirt paths and past rivers, accompanied by your guide. You will make brief stops along the way, to enjoy the ocean-view lookout points. Your final stop is an oasis of private waterfalls, where you will get to rest, relax and take a swim, before returning to the adventure center.

HORSEBACK RIDING & NATURAL POOLS

15 minutes away from the beach town of Jaco, amidst the rainforests of the Central Pacific, Vista Los Suenos Adventure Park awaits adrenaline-seekers and nature-lovers alike. Surrounded by nature, the park offers many exciting activities. Horseback riding is among one of the most sought-after activities.

 

The tour begins with a scenic hour-and-a-half-long ride from the Port of Quepos to Vista Los Suenos Adventure Park. Upon arrival, you will receive some brief safety and riding instructions, you will get your gear on, get on your horse and ride!

 

Nothing quite like discovering the wonders of the rainforest on horseback. As you make your way through the jungle trails, keep an eye out for wildlife – you’ll surely spot some. Be sure to stop and enjoy the amazing views along the way!

 

After a nice and slow 45-minute ride, you will hike for 10 minutes through the private reserve, to the pristine natural pools where you can enjoy a refreshing swim.

AN AUTHENTIC CHOCOLATE EXPERIENCE

The tour begins with a scenic hour-and-a-half-long ride from the Port of Quepos to Vista Los Suenos Adventure Park. Upon arrival, you will go on a short nature walk through the transitional rainforest, during which you will get to see a variety of flora and fauna.

 

Next, the Authentic Chocolate Experience begins, in which you will get to observe varieties of cocoa beans, and learn about them. You will be told about the ancestral history of cocoa as well as its impact on the world economy. Now, for the fun part - you will get to taste the cocoa fruit raw, witness the production processes, and then taste different types of delicious chocolate mixed with a variety of tropical fruits.

 

After the activity, you can browse through and buy different types of organic chocolate bars and cacao products, with varying cacao percentages and flavors.

CANOE OUTRIGGERS

Playa Agujas, only 30 minutes away from beach town Jaco in the Central Pacific, is ideal for water sports such as canoeing. Paddling away on the outriggers (Hawaiian style canoes) is not only a whole lot of fun, but also great exercise. Also, a great way to enjoy the scenery.

 

The tour begins with an hour-and-a-half-long, scenic drive from the Port of Quepos to the tropical Playa Agujas. After some brief safety and paddling instructions, you will go aboard your outrigger and paddle away into the blue. You will glide past spectacular cliffs filled with frigate birds and pelicans, and your guide will point out interesting landmarks along the way.

No experience is necessary to partake in this tour.
 

There will be experienced guides, all necessary equipment, bottled water, fruit, showers and changing rooms.

 

A colorful picnic lunch will be served at the beach.
