KAYAK AT PUNTA UVA
Punta Uva is known for its breathtakingly beautiful white-sand beaches, and quiet, serene ambience. Its protective reef enables calm waters and little waves – ideal for swimming and kayaking!
The tour begins with a short safety briefing. Once in the water, you will go kayaking parallel to the coastline, known for its mesmerizing view of the cliffs, caves, and rainforest. Next, you will go kayaking up a river – be sure to keep an eye out for the enchanting wildlife around you!
Upon return to Punta Uva Beach, a refreshing picnic will be waiting for you! You will have time to relax, and swim in the crystal-clear turquoise waters.

TORTUGUERO CANALS TOUR
Situated on the coast of northern Limon, the Tortuguero Canals are the second largest wetlands in the country. Renowned for its natural beauty and extreme biodiversity, Tortuguero is known as the Amazon of Costa Rica. Mostly explored by boat, it is the prime location for nature enthusiasts.

Your tour begins with a 45-minute panoramic drive through the countryside of Limon, where you will arrive at the pier to board the boats. The boat tour of the canals lasts about an hour and is ideal for birdwatchers and nature lovers – be sure to look out for wildlife, it’s truly impressive! ECOLIRIOS – JUNGLE OASIS
A country road, off the beaten path, up a mountain surrounded by lush, green forest will take you to the mesmerizing jungle oasis of Ecolirios Boutique Hotel & Spa. Amidst the rainforest, this scenic property offers serenity for the soul. It features lovely accommodations, a top-notch restaurant, cultural activities, nature hikes, and natural pools.
Upon arrival, you will be received with a cool we towel, and an ice-cold fresh fruit juice.
Once having cooled down, you will set off on an unforgettable 45-minute nature hike through the rainforest. Your naturalist guide will point out exotic plants and wildlife as you make your way through the trails.
A very special treat awaits, after the hike. You will get a chance to rest at a rancho by a scenic lake, and witness the making of sugar cane juice with mint and lemon – a fascinating demonstration and a refreshing delight!
After having blown off steam, you will visit an old, typical Costa Rican country house, right there on the property. Your guide will briefly tell you about the different rooms and objects within the house, you will get to walk around and see first-hand what a traditional Costa Rican house looks like.
Finally, you will be taken over to the restaurant for a delicious gourmet lunch. Excluding the roof, the restaurant is open-air, so you will surely feel that very special energy as you stare out at the jungle view, and enjoy your food as you listen to the singing of tropical birds.

FINCA SANTA ROSA & LIMON TOUR
On this short excursion, you will get acquainted with the charming Caribbean city of Limon, and its outskirts. First, you will make your way to Finca Santa Rosa, a typical banana plantation. Here, you will briefly be told about how bananas are grown and collected. The plantation also has a section for cacao, and your guide will tell you all about the processes of the its production, and how delicious chocolate is then made.
On the way back to pier, you will drive through the city of Limon. Your tour guide will fill you in on the history and traditions of Limon. There will be two stops – one at “El Fortin” lookout point, to enjoy the beautiful view, and another at Parque Vargas, where you’ll be able to walk around the scenic and historic park.

HANGING BRIDGES
About 30 minutes away from the port town of Limon, inland among the greenest of jungles, sit the hanging bridges of Brisas de la Jungla. This reserve is renowned for its serene vibe, scenic views, and wide variety of flora and fauna.
Next, you will take to the trails of the rainy mountains of Limón at a height of 1064 meters. You will get to cross 3 impressive suspension bridges, each one high up at the level of treetops. Surely, you will appreciate the jungle views! The first bridge is 37 meters long and 12 meters high, the second is 42 meters long and 19 meters high, and the third is 67 meters long and 22 meters high. In addition, you will come across 3 walkways of varying heights. Surrounded by heliconias and banana plants, keep an eye out for white-faced monkeys, howler monkeys, sloths, birds, and different types of frogs!

Next, you will go to Ara Manzanillo, located in a primary tropical rainforest, about 100 m above sea level. Once you reach the lookout point with spectacular views of the forest and the sea, be sure to keep an eye out for the stunning Green Macaws that will be soaring above you, as you make your way through the Caribbean lowland forest.

WHITE WATER RAFTING CLASS II
White Water Rafting is an extremely popular tour option in Costa Rica. It is ideal for adrenaline-seekers as well as nature lovers. Nothing quite beats that perfect combination – the excitement of thrashing through the rapids, with the serenity of your natural surroundings.
Your tour begins at the river banks of the mighty Reventazon River, where you will get brief safety instructions and paddling techniques. Once you have your gear on, you’ll hop into your raft and go on a surely memorable 90-minute adventure. Accompanied by your guide, you’ll go rafting down the river, mostly featuring calm waters, and past some Class II Rapids – exhilarating but not dangerous. Ideal for first -timers or those wanting a fun but less intense rafting experience.
The rafting ends on the river bank, alongside a banana plantation, where you will transfer to the Operations Center. You’ll get to shower, change your clothes and enjoy a snack before heading back to the port.

TAYKU CHOCOLATE TOUR
Located next to the Cahuita National Park, about 15 minutes from the scenic beaches of Puerto Viejo, awaits a one-of-a-kind chocolate adventure. Amidst the greenery, Cacao Trails Tayku offers a chocolate experience ranging from a historical and practical tour of the plantation, visit to a museum, to actual cacao tasting. A cultural and culinary delight!
Your tour begins at Cacao Trails Tayku in Cahuita, where you will first take a walking tour of the 100-year-old cacao plantation – your guide will give you historical facts about the venue.
Next, you will visit the new and active cacao plantation, where you will learn all about growing cacao in harmony with nature – you will get to taste raw cacao!
After that, you will move to the Cacao Museum, where your guide will tell you all about cacao production and the processes involved in making the perfect chocolate. You will get to taste the cacao beans in their different states of processing, including actual chocolate.
You can then visit the indigenous UÌ€-sulë Bribri ranch that has botanical gardens featuring exotic flowers such as heliconias and orchids, and a cultural museum to learn about the tribes’ history and culture.

HACIENDA SITIO DE MATA
The experience at Hacienda Sitio de Mata lasts for about 4 hours. On this tour, you will first visit a small historical plank house dating back to 1750, and a colonial church built in 1880 known as “the walking church”. Next, you will go to Mirador del Gacebo, a lookout point with a spectacular view of the Turrialba Valley, and a stone labyrinth!
On the next part of the tour, you will get to visit the coffee mill. Here, you will get to taste delicious freshly made pour-over coffee. Next, you will visit the Trapiche, where you will learn about the sugar cane production and processing. You’ll see the cutting of the sugar cane, the extracting of the sugar cane juice via oxen-led systems, and the preparation of a granulated sweet and the delicious "sobado".
A traditional Costa Rican lunch will be served, before heading back to your cruise ship!
